Foxtail Season

Also known as grass lawns or June grass, foxtails have one way barbs that burrow into your pet's skin. Most often you will find them between toes, in ears, noses and eyes. Look for profuse sneezing, bloody nose, blinking eye, head shaking and limping or soreness near the toes. Foxtails can migrate once under the skin causing infections and even rupturing ear drums. As with all prevention techniques, catching it early is the best. Check your pet's toes, eyes, ears and nose each day and bring them in to us if you notice any infection.
